Jacob William Rees-Mogg (born 24 May 1969) is a British politician who was appointed Minister of State for Brexit Opportunities and Government Efficiency in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Boris Johnson in 2022. He previously served as Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council from 2019 to 2022. He has been Member of Parliament (MP) for North East Somerset since 2010. A member of the Conservative Party, Rees-Mogg has been associated with socially conservative views.
