My Bloody Valentine are an Irish-English alternative rock band formed in Dublin in 1983, known for their early and highly influential shoegaze recordings. Since 1987, the band's lineup has consisted of founding members Kevin Shields (vocals, guitar, sampler), Colm Ó Cíosóig (drums, sampler), Bilinda Butcher (vocals, guitar) and Debbie Googe (bass). Their music is distinguished by dissonant guitar textures, androgynous vocals, and unorthodox production techniques.
